World Cyber Games Irish finals still open
- Irish finals open without attending regional qualifiers

Registration for the Irish finals of the World Cyber Games is still open, and is open to everyone not just those who competed in the regional heats.
Gamers wishing to play in the finals must register at lanparty.ie, and also then sign up to the event on the 'WCG Irish Finals' page.
Games to be played are Counter Strike 1.6 on PC with a team of five, Project Gotham Racing 3 on Xbox, and FIFA 07 on PC.
Tickets cost €15, they cover the cost of the official World Cyber Games Irish finals and a separate bring-your-own PC LAN party.
The finals event will be hosted at the Government's Digital Hub business centre in Dublin 8, it takes place on Saturday September 15 at 10am to the following day at the same time.
For the official event players must be 18 or older, hold an Irish
passport and be able to travel to the United States for the world event
on October 2 - 8. Entrants to the general LAN is not age restricted,
but parental or guardian permission is needed for those under 16
Two Dublin regional qualifiers
There will be two regional qualifiers over this month. The first is at the GameCon LAN from Friday to Saturday, August 17 to 19, at Griffith College Conference Centre on the South Circular Road.
The second event is in the city centre at the Xbox Live Gaming Centre from midday to midnight on Sunday, August 26. For more infromation on the two events see gamecon.ie and xboxlivegamingcentre.com.
Regional winners so far
Meanwhile, winners from the regional events will automatically go thought to the second round of the Dublin-based finals. Winners announced so far are Padraig O Reilly and Ken Darker, James Howlett, David Hughes, Jeff Warren, Hugh Nowlan, MacDara Hughes and James Barbour.
